Default WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK WHEN THEY SEE A COSWORTH????

Just sat here thinking what do the general public and other motorists think/say when they see a cosworth on the road...........do they think nice car looks really nice, or chav, or dont even think as the fix or repair daily sierra/escort comes by making funny noises???........
bck in its day they were the cars to have the times i used to say "COSSIE" on a night out chilling me balls of waiting in a 10 mile cue to get into a club in bournemouth......but now u rarely see a cosworth or at least a nice one on the roads anymore do people still admire and respect the cars????opinions please...........bt im talking about nice examples not complete rot buckets hammering around chavved to fook

Default seeing a cossie

Personally I get good comments from people when they see me out in my car, even "normal" motorists comment and say that's a nice car, wether they know what it is is another thing, also you get people having a go no matter what they are driving but I think that's cos they want to see the car shifting so they give you a goading, don't see many cossies on the road nowadays but that's cos i think everyone who owns one is trying to preserve it just as i do,

legendary cars well respected imo

Well i have been driving mine around for the last fortnight as my run-around gave up..... Fuel bill = D'oh!

Pulled into my local Shell garage to fill up and the worker behind the counter even commented on how nice my cosworth was...

I was quite flattered

Shame as now i got a new runabout is here...... And the cossie is going to stay on the drive

as you said seeing a cosie on the road these days is becoming a rair thing.

personally i think the older generation when they see one do point and say look thats a nice cossie etc.the new generation of playstation kids tend not to think anything of them. and of those playstation kids that are a bit older and somehow afford scoobies,200sx's etc i think they see them as an old sierra, till they get a shock

if i see one myself im still the sort to stare at it with a huge grin on my face even though i own 1.

we took traceys saff to supercar sunday last year and i was suprised at the amount of people chatting to us about it and saying how nice it was and that the have alot of respect for themand this coming from blokes driving 80k upward cars. i suopse though that alot of them proberly had them when they came out and have now had the cash to go prestige.

the cossie is the council estate super car

love em to bits.

i have had 3 people in recent weeks ask me if it was 'a real one'

possibly due to the fact its black (dont see many black ones round 'ere) or most probably due to the disgusting wheels i am sporting as mine are being repaired

they are truly truly awful

I have always had people come and talk to me either in the Sapph or the Escos.

Sometimes i love turning up at the local chav cruise meets, You can see the look on people's faces.

People Stop and Stare either because they love it or because they wonder what it is...

I have had many people say " is that a real one " my reply is " Get in mate, i will take you for a spin " ...

Most people here don't even know what a cossie is...

They say...its a ford sierra (dutch for saph)...i say..yeah..your right..

Sometimes when they see me passing by with such a hurry a stage 3 4wd saph can...much faster then some would be known fast cars..you see the look on there faces at the traffic lights.."what the feck is that"...."i think..its only a ford..hehe"

i was with a ford dealer a while ago....a bloke there said.."i dont like cossies"..i said why..he said "because you see only young folks driving it"....what a stupid comment is that..

Whenever I go out in the Cossie people seem to love it, like the guy who delivered my wheels today when I put the garage door up to put the wheels in he was gobsmacked he knew what it was and I couldn't get rid of him LOL!!!

nothing but positive in my experience!

I always have a lot of regards for the 3 doors as when I see them they still remind me of seeing the old touring cars of Andy Rouse, Tim Harvey and others spitting flames and making the BMW M3's look pathetic.
For me the three door is the definitive cossie and there is just something about the whale fin which I suppose is the reason why I also prefer the Escort to the Saff.
Saffs rarely get a second look to be honest other than to see what wheels they are running, they just don't look anything special imho

Whenever we go out in the Cossie always seem to get people staring at it, and saying how you never see them anymore etc,

oh and even have pikies in petrol stations telling us how easy they are to steal and thats all they used to nick back in the day

you definitely get a lot of admiration though, and funnily enough nearly every evo or scooby you see cant help but stare either

Due to the fact that you don't see them around anymore I love seeing them on the roads. It's so rare to see one and that's the reason I bought mine a couple of months ago. There's a beautiful escort cosworth round my way and when I see that I can't help but stop and stare.

You used to see them everywhere like you do with Subarus but I can now remember the last time I saw one, where it was and what it was

The majority of drivers on the road havn't a clue, they just see an old Ford. It is the sound of a Cosworth engine that always seems to attract attention, even sat ticking over, people tend to come up because of the sound.

The older generation seem to recognise them far more readily than the youngsters. I had a plumber doing some work one day, he must have been over 60, and I opened the garge door. The Cossie was totally covered and wrapped up for the winter with just the exhaust showing, he immediately said you don't see many Cosworths these days.

When I got my Esc I took it around to my mum and dads and first thing my dad said 'its got hub caps' talking about the Monte Carlo wheels
My brother mate came out and said 'what the hell is that spoiler on that back' I don't think he ever did believe me the whale tail is standard

I like to see them on the road and think it's good to see them about still, saw a nice White 3dr the other day on the motorway and watched it till it was out of site!

Personally I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks when they see me out in either of my RS's, they can think what they like, I know what they are and thats all that matters to me, my opinion, no one elses!

EsCos - Wow, would love one of them

3 Door - Wow, great car, would love one of them

Sapphy - TAXI!!

I had a Saph and always reckoned I'd bought a dud, only the engine livened it up, did nothing for me. Glad to be shot of it to be honest.

Cheers
