i've had several, and each time it's been different, and i'm having one tomorrow so i'll tell youall about that too
the expereiences are a little soemthing like this:
they will either stick it into the back of your hand of the crook of your elbow, and, depending what else they are doing, they might put in a needle first and then start piggybacking other stuff into the back of teh main needle they put in, drips and stuff, although they may put that in the other arm so be prepaerd for 2 lots of brusings
the needle is very tiny beause it doens't take a lot to put you out, but you do feel that little "pin prick" of pain jsut before, it only last seconds but it's easier if you look away and grab the bed with the other hand and leave the arm they are going to pin loose
you can't drive for 24 hours afterwards, somethng about insurance not covering you in the event of an accident, so make sure that soemone is there if they say you can go the same day (normally not if they are going to chop you about, but for something like an endoscoopy you'll be alright walking to he car
if you are feeling sick afterawrds get them to give you a jab of something to take the feeling away, normally in your backside and jus try to sleep
i was in the op and out for about 8 in the morning and then, even though i remember being up and out by about 9.30, othing else registered until around 10 that night
you don't really need to worry about anything before, it's the feeling of being a bit freaked afterwards that is a giggle
and yes, when you go out, you feel all buzzy and tingling all over, and then you wake up feeling like shit
as for the longest soemones been out, 9th feb 1991 till may 2nd 1991 but i really WAS dead for about 10 minutes on jan 31st 1991
not that it's going to put you off
don't forget to fast for about 8 hours beforehand

Someone has told me not to smoke on the morning of my op, why is this ? LOL
I'm not looking forward to not being able to eat

I went under a month ago to have a coil put in
I was at the cinema about 2 hours after coming round Didnt feel sick at all, prob coz it was a low dosage.
When i went under in 2005, was fine then too but woke up sicky.
2002.. Was fine
Totally agree, biggest buzz ive ever had.

Don't worry about it too much or you'll panic. I actually totally loved the feeling that I had when I was goin under. I could even feel the coldness of the drugs going up my veins in my arm!!
