Default can someone teach me about cossie ecu`s

OK I haveA 1989 2WD cossie which i think they have L1 ecus am i right?

what advanatages are they to upgrade them and what other bits do i need to change? thanks

I think the Sapphire one is a L6. The 3 door/RS500 ones were L1's. Sapphire 4x4 were L8 and the early Escorts were P8's. The get progressively more powerful, more memory, more features etc.

how can u tell the difference when looking at ecu what ecu it is

l1 l6 have plug in chip l8 has piggy back baby board

colcos, thats not necessarily true, it depends on what the "chipper" has done
