Default how to get a reliable 330-350bhp from cossie?

i keep reading about all these colour injectors for a given bhp,it`s all a bit confusing to me really .

what i am after is a reliable 330-350 bhp in the rs200 with a 4x4 cossie engine.

engine has done 27000 miles, will it need a stripdown at this mileage?
heads never been skimmed (measured it at 139mm as per ford spec)

what will i need regarding turbo, injectors, actuators, chip etc.

please excuse me if this thread has been done a million time before, but i am a numpty for remembering things

thanks
dave

This will get 350 on the right chip, and be very reliable, so just what he wants

i would put a grp a head gasket on at the minimu

regardless of how many miles your engine has done

start chucking 25psi through it the head gasket is going to shit itself

but other than that

greens
3 bar
t35 .63 ex
be worth upgrading the intercooler
and as the said the rite chip

all good comments,thanks

so i would be running about 25psi?

i already have an uprated intercooler i had custom made for my old rs200,so that should be ok.

would it be best to fit a group a headgasket or similar?

uprated (arp) head bolts/studs

as post above can you really get 330 ish out of greens and standard t3,if so for a standard ford part that`s brillant,100+ bhp and still with a stock turbo (if correct)

My mate from Nantwich was running greens and standard T3 was around 300bhp but really was pushing it. He added a T34 with a .55 ex[i think] and its defo quicker than before and he prefers it as feels alot stronger. i would personally go for a T34 instead of putting that much stress on a T3, but it's upto you.

As for who to get the chip and other bits off, i would use Stu at MSD thats who i will be getting to do mine when i have a bit more cash. As for turbo's for sales section in here is usually pretty good.

As said Dave you could keep the T3 but would be pushing it at 300 and wouldn’t expect it to last that long. T34 would be the best option, I would get a .48 housing and have the quicker spool. You see good second hand ones on here for about £350 400. If you live near Blackpool area I would recommend a trip to MSD for a setup and perhaps coil packs and closed loop lambda for the ultimate

Internals wise Grp A head gasket and job done unless you want closer to the 400 BHP mark but then you will be pushing it on the standard dif and gearbox. A genuine 330 with the cars light weight and it will be a proper weapon.

Default stage 3 parts?

i have a turbo i no longer need which is for stage 3 if your interested
i have had the turbo for 4 years and has been sat in the loft never used.
fully rebuilt by i think off the top of my head turbo dynamics so is as new

it is a t34.63 also comes with a silicon boost pipe and a grp a k&n air filter

price is £750
if you was to take this i could also get you injectors at trade price as my dad works for bosch

i was going to use this turbo but my car needs new sills and as i have just got married and had a kid its drained my funds.

i'm running a standard block/head with a tripple layer gasket
light blue injectors
alloy rs500 intercooler
grp a coil
spec r grp a oil seperator
t34.63
large air filter

running 356bhp during the summer heat wave so could pull another 10-15bhpon a normal day

so as you see you dont need much to get a lot of power
here is a printout after it was setup

here is my car 4wd cossie cabrio

i like your project looks cool good luck with it

What about the word RELAIBLE in the topic title?

Once you have got the power you need the engine to hold together.

I suggest a decent radiator and intercooler ensuring the cooling fans work,
An uprated breather,
A new engine wiring loom,
Uprated head gasket,
New fuel pump,
New fuel pressure regulator,
New coolant, boost and signal pipes,
Full set of new sensors.

Just to mention a few pointers

if you buy a t34, try and get one with a maram shaft so that you can run antilag - if your car looks like a rally car, it should sound like one too

a maram shaft is made of a different material to a std turbo shaft and can take the shock loading (don't know if the heat also comes into play) caused by antilag

you do not need to run a p8 for antilag. it can be done with L8.

what does it sound like? a proper rally car from the early 90's
