When I was doing me printing course in 1986 the print ink rep had a black 3 door which completely astonished me at the time and have always been a cossie fan since then.

Was driving along in my TT Peugeot all 180bhp blazing & I turned to my son & said, I want to build something fast. His reply was, you need a Cossie dad. Id never considered a Ford. Those fatal words were uttered 11 years ago now.

Mike R took me for a spin in his saff.

Shocked the shit out of me how quick cars could be. I sold my Escort and bought one a couple of weeks later.

In 1993 I took my Renault GTA V6 Turbo to Turbosystems to have it chipped. After having numerous problems Tony Mannock said "this isnt a proper car", come with me and I'll show you a proper car and proceeded to take me out in a customers 3-Door cossie - running 330bhp .

Compared then to my plastic french frog, it was like a rocket ship. Felt so fast at the time!

I went and sold my GTA and bought a Moonstone 3-door the following week!

it was a guy called mike goff that built it,he then sold it to his younger brother who then sold it down south.

they do like to build things tho, they had an ex u.s flatbed pickup oval racer with a 4.0 lexus engine,a genuine 205 t16,ralle golf, dodge pickup with the viper engine.

anyone know how the car looks now? some pics to show him would be sweet!!

Always influenced by the blue oval as a young kid, tv shows such as, the professionals, the sweeny, also all the boy racers on my estate had rs 2000's or mk 1 escort mexico's,

first cossie i laid eys on when i was 15 years old was in arglye road ealing west london, moonstone 3 door looked the bollox, thought to myself must own one of these one day

for me personally, first car that brought super car power to the massis

been hooked on them ever since

i always loved escort cossies, but being taken out in a very high power saph made me love them even more!!!

it sounds daft, but even down to just working on them gives me a buzz, a high power extremely quick car that you can do the vast majority of jobs on yourself. Helped a friend get his ready for the ring earlier this year and even though i wasn't going to see it, it was just good to know that the car you've just worked on for nights to get ready is going to be abused in germany, lol

Theres just a massive buzz around cossies that no other car has, not evo's or scooby's. its strange

Watching touring cars in the late 80's got me hooked.

Didn't help going to Norfolk group RSOC meets with best mates for almost a year. The finishing touch came when i was doing a track day earlier this year in the itr, i moved over to let a white saph past came along side squatted spat a flame and fooked off. Came off and said fook this that looks loads more fun and bought one 2 months later.

Touring cars, I used to love watching the cossies in the british touring cars when I was a kid It's taken me nearly 20 years to buy one though I was always worried about it getting stolen if I bought one but I bit the bullet a couple of months ago and bought one.

even back then it had 300-350bhp,quite enough power to see off most cars back then,,as i said in the other thread "18 years old in my mk1 astra gte 3 of my mates in the car we spotted mike a bit ahead so as every 18 yo punk worth his salt would do i tried to race him(not to beat him mind but to see how fast it would leave me)came of a roundabout at speed ,got along side him and at that he promptly floored it ,spun all four wheels in second i think and fucked off into the distance spitting flames as he went
thats when i said"thats the kinda power i want"
