not fastest to depreciate, but like all cars, they lose shit loads over the first 3 years.

Put look at mondeo, they lose sooo much over time too

I like the yellow, looks sexy, as does the Laguna Seca Blue, especially with the Laguna leather.

We have a white M3 with schnitzer kit for sale at the mo, 48k !!!

I like it tho!!

Sorry but I don't see the point in that.

I got my RS turbo at 18.. How many of you had one at that age? Money isn't anything to do with it, I doubt I can get insured on an E46, plus if you saw my thread, i said how good they were after going out in one.
I got insured on my cossie at 18 mate, i did pay 5k for it so if money isnt an option why dont you get an E46????

As above i ws insured on my escort cossie at 18 and was only paying £1400 fully comp!!!! (allbeit 8yrs ago!!).

Phil - a friend lent me his SMG2 M3 cab a while back and I found the gearbox fine. 5 Million times better than the original E36 M3 SMG box (I think you had one as well didnt you?). Definitely best time of year to buy as well!

Phil,
Check out the weight of your car against the BMW, when you take the weight into account, you may find the difference between the two is marginal....

I've got a E46 M3, its pretty fast really they just don't feel it as they are smooth. They are very heavy really compared to older cars too.

I do really like mine, its a much better car than the 330Cd I used to have, but I do miss the huge bottom end torque the diesel had :s

ESCYSCOTT im sorry mate but are you on drugs

A 420 bhp saph is way different leauge from a M3 power wise i wouldnt be shocked if one beat me your car is out the wrapper with 340 bhp & no turbo..So i think your expecting a bit much from your m3.

M3s arent slow they just aint as powerfull as a saph running greys or that..

phil, do it, theyre awesome cars, and you can tune them SO much for little omney.

you can stick on a airfilter and that releases an extra 30bhp! couple that with a decat exhaust and a livemap and you're easily looking at an extra 100-150bhp

Does everyone of PF go out and drive like crazy horses every where? Fuck sake its not fast enough Course they are. Go out and buy a twin engined westy if all ya bothered about is speed

They look 50 times better than any cossie, and i LOVE cossies. To me, that combined with the power they do have make a perfect car in that price range...

I know how quick a 400 bhp cossie is mate, I've got one!! Was just surprised how much quicker than the M3. When you think about how a 400bhp 4x4 fairs against a 340bhp 2wd, there isnt a great deal in it really but pete's car left me standing!!!! and I mean standing!!!!

There are some good S/charger kits for the m3 putting out 450-470bhp,around £5k for the kit.

Iam currenly doing one, should be pretty quick.

The cossie is actually in a different league in outright accel, but the M5 does it so easily and is quick enough to cure my need for speed, sometimes i miss the the 4k rpm to 7k rush that the cossie has.

I cant bear to sell the cossie, its just mental.

Bear in mind an E46 M3 weighs 25% more than a 2wd Sapphire Cosworth. If they've both got the same power ( and the Sapphire has more torque as well ) there's going to be a difference there
