Well now decided to go for the HISPEC MONSTER 6 POT Conversion Kit with 335/32mm Grooved Discs with Green Stuff Pads now as i think the 360/32mm discs would not have fitted with the 6 Pots under the 18" MO rims.

Ok if they had been 19" MO's but not 18's.

Either way still look good mate..

as thats what you need brakes for, to look good . I wasn't being nasty mate, but I would seriously consider cancelling that order and getting some AP's Can I ask how much you are paying for them? Also, not having a go, but ask 99% of people who have used greenstuff pads, and they will tell you they are crap, I hated mine so much I threw them away not even 1/4 worn, they were that bad , if you can get a different pad before they send them the I would seriously consider somthing like ferodo DS5200's or some Pagid blues

i run ferodo ds's they are great. as for green stuff,i sell ebc in my shop and whoever sold you greenstuff mondleo is a knob jockey.any car over 200bhp should be on redstuff if you have to use ebc.bad supplier you will get so much fade it'll be dangerous. i'd get back to them and sort em out mate

Under no circumstances run the Greenstuff pads, as these are what causes 90% of the problems with the disc warping issues (the other 10% being incorrect running in process). Ask to switch to the DS2500s . Incidentally, I can do a 10% discount on Hi-spec stuff for PF users.... .

never had any problems with the greeenstuffs on the estate
330's and willwoods and they stopped like you'd thrown and anchor out the back did take a little tap to get them up to temps but after that they were as great as tony the tiger would have you believe

also got hispec discs and no problems there either, and their monster 6 calipers are proper big. A4 paper size big so i'd be thinking of getting there and seeing if they will fit under your rims as it is before forking out for them

The Greenstuff pads tend to deposit brake material onto the discs, which appear as black smudges that builds up sufficiently to cause the discs to feel like they are warped, if unchanged for better pads (which removes the deposits), the black smudges cause uneven heat build up on the surface of the discs, which then causes them to ACTUALLY warp, so scrapping the discs...

intresting that

what sort of mileage does this happen at though, i never took my car on to the track and it was all road use and i never had any problems with brake dust
or stopping it from speed either
perhaps i wasn't using them hrd enough to see the problems?

does this mean i could have even BETTER stopping power by using the red stuff pads? if so

They clean themselves up if used mainly for gentle road miles with just the occasional agressive stop or brief track session.
Exactly what they are marketted as being suitable for in fact, lol

exactly! im sure they only list em because its what they used to make and sell all the time until they got complaints i presume. i had a set in a nissan pulsar and they faded really badly and that was just road driving not track

I have since spoken to Roy at HISPEC Today and he says i need clearance of 410mm inside the 18" rim and 60mm from face of disc to rear of alloy spokes.

I have measured the face to disc and is 75mm and the inside of rim where it tappers from 440 to is 420mm so these will fit but will be very tight indeed.

I have gone for the 6 POT MEGA Annadised Black calipers with 360/32mm Grooved Discs with Silver Bells and Mintex Brake Pads and also Braided Hoses which should like very nice and do the job, there is about a 4 week waiting delay as these are being made to order.

They come in at £1620.20p in total with carriage.

Will post up pics when they are on.

i paid i think £317 per caliper when they first came out, deffintly nice looking beasties, but they do stop you and you can also fit a 36mm disc in them, but not officially you can't

You should have gone for AP six pots with 355mm discs,, far superior product and cheaper than what your paying also!
