Looking at buying a Fiesta RS TURBO now, Can you guys give any ideas on what sort of things to look out for when buying one,

Also i've seen one that has just had an engine rebuild because it melted one of the pistons 3rd piston in looks like it has been rebuilt propery but what sort of thing would cause this might it have been detonation could it have been a faulty injector and he says it drives fine after the rebuilt but should be set up by a garage etc first. it also won't idle lower than 3000rpm unless you disconnect the ISCV, then it drops,

The spec of the engine is

0.5mm Mahle pistons with ARP Big End Bolts
Garrett T3 Turbo conversion
Pace Twin Core Intercooler
Uprated Injectors
Superchip
-31 Actuator
Full custom chrome s/s exhaust system
New Radiator
Samco Boost pipes
Rebuilt gearbox
Fast road organic clutch plate

Could it be that he's running it at too high boost, i can work on the CVH pretty good but i don't have a clue about turbo's

Please help guys

Cheers BAZ

Tbh it all depends on how much you are willing to spend?

you can get a frst for £1500 or you can pay £4k for one, It really varies depending on how its been looked after spec etc..

Just been on the phone to the guy selling it,

He said that its running 10psi, on beige injectors that where put on new about 7 years ago so could one of these have packed up and caused the piston to blow, also he said that the pressure boost pipe going from the turbo to the acumulator (i think thats what he said im not very good on turbos) was unpluged, could this have caused the problems,

also when he unplugs the ISCV it goes down to about 1500rpm so could there be a ECU or more likly just an air-leak

Any ideas would be well welcomed

Cheers for your help guys
