Wireless sky/dvd transmission? UPDATE

Wireless sky/dvd transmission? UPDATE
Right this is one for gadget people i think!
I currently have my tv in one corner of the living room and thats where the sky+ wires come into the house. We're getting a new bigger sofa which means that we need the tv on the otherside of the room to make everything fit. Problem now is that the sky point is in completely the wrong place and we cant just run a wire to the new tv point as it'd have to go past the door etc and look stupid.
Now do any of you have a wireless setup? My mate has something similar but it isnt totally wireless. I wont go into the details but he pointed me in the direction of a product which might be of use. He hasnt got back to me yet so thought i'd ask if anyone uses anything similar and also if you dont it might be a good idea!
Here's what i have found:

Looks like i could leave the sky box under the sofa until i can re route the cable from the dish and have this receiver by the tv on the other side of the room. I'm just hoping that it'll be compatible with sky+. I *think* it must be because it only mentions you need additional hardware if you're NTL or telewest.
Here is the product for sale

So anyone use it or know if its any good?
Cheers

BTW you can have your dvd player plugged in to.
Eventually if this works i will re route the cable from the sky dish down to say the kitchen cupboard then hide the sky box and dvd player in there and all we have in the living room is the tv and the wee extra receiver. Sounds neat and easy

i was also looking into this as i would like my sky to be upstairs aswell as down stairs but with one sky box but i dont think you would be able to change the sky channel from upstairs so it would be a carry on if i had to go up & down just to change a channel

i already have the ability to do what you want. you need something called the sky eye and you get it on ebay for £6 odd. You need to run a wire from power out of sky box up to the back of the tv you want to watch sky on, then you plug that wire into the sky ey and a wee eye thing sits on top of tv so you can change channel.
The thing i need here is different because i need no wires.
I'll get the link for you of what you need...
oh and obviously you can only watch one sky channel at a time but svaes the £10 a month for multi room!

Here's another link to same product
http://wirelesshomes.co.uk/videointro.htm
it shows a pic of a sky + box and says "Works with all satellite receivers including Sky+" then also says "NTL, Telewest and Sky+ customers may require the DG100DE DigiEye "

Its an ace prodcut and we've had it for a few months. All you need to do is bring the remote upstairs with you or of course buy another remote but at £20 odd for sky plus i havent bothered yet. I send the mrs instead
So to do this as i said you must run a wire from back of sky box to tv upstairs. What i did is very easy but you might not be so lucky...
In living room i had a terrestrial tv aerial socket which went to aerial in loft. I disconnected from aerial and drilled through into our wardrobe and brought wire to the tv. Then we just plug the sky box into the aerial point
If you cant run the wire then you need what i'm looking for with this post.
If you want a hand with the above then just ask.
