Default car wax versus road salt

say its been raining and road salt has been put down ie water is now salt water spray on motorway

how long is a coat of wax going to last against it ?

if the salt water batters metal then car wax aint gonna fair too well

trying to decide wether to clean my saph properly sometime this week or is it just pointless ?

I guess the more often you clean and re-wax the better
I've always thought as long as the water beads very well on the car then its protected, but i could be completely wrong

a wash and polish with crap products will do nothing, i do about 5 stages on mine and the water doesn't stick to the car at all when moving,it just beads and rolls off, it needs doing more often in this weather but will still stay protected for a good while between washes

I try and atleast get the car cleaned regularly, salt is not kind at all. Salt = Rust.. Even if you have to casll by at a albanian hand car wash it is worth the Ł5 mid week just to get it washed and leatherd. A wax every cople of months is definately worth it. The NCP where I park in Leeds has an on site Valeter, CarSpa. Ł20 ish for a interior and exterior wash.

you can do LOADS more... but those three are a damn good start if the paint not seen anything before.

Any old products from halfords is better than none at the end of the day!
