poxy torrents doing my nut in!!!
Downloading a "perfectly legal uncopyrighted" file via torrents, and this particular one is now proper doing my nut in
2.02gb in total, so far have done 92.8% - but thats taken over 19hrs!
Now it just keeps dropping off My connection ain't the fastest, and at best I see 60-65 kbps, but this keeps dropping down to 0.0. Stop the torrent, then restart, and after a min or so it restarts downloading at 50/60 kbps, and then it just begins to drop, down down down down and hovers around 0.5 and then stops at 0.0 while the ETA just rises and rises and rises
WHY?
Fucking thing!

with torrents someone has to be uploading the bit you want for you to download it. Its not like the file is uploaded somewhere and everyone downloads it.

as above, the job of your torrent programme is to download and put together all the segments of a certain file that its downloaded and if it cant get to a certain part of the file then thats it you come to a hault, but it doesnt happen very often

Others : I know how torrents work And this one is not lacking in available files/pieces. Availability is at 1.948, which means there is 1 full version (all pieces) available there. 1 Seeder (of 2) connected, and 10 peers (of 22) connected, but it still keeps crashing!!!!
As I type it's fluctuating between 10 and 23 kbps, which is between 4hrs and 1.5hrs....
99% of all the other torrents I download sit there pretty much bang on 60kbps, and barely falter at all.....

EDIT : Just been fooking around with trackers - one wasn't working (5 trackers in there) so messing around one at a time, seems one on it's own is flitting between 15/20 and 30/40 kbs, peaking at 50ish....
Gonna leave it running on that for a bit see what happens... Fr the first time since this began it has an ETA of less than an hour (I say that, it's now just dropped to near 5kb and reverted back to best part of two hours eta :wall )

If there is only one or 2 seeders Thrush thats your problem. You have reached where everyone else is stuck so the last bit will go slow especially if the seeders hasnt the best connection in the world or just dont want to share much of there bandwith. Good things come to those who wait

Best bet would be to stop the torrent and restart it again in a few hours and hopefully it'll have a few more seeds on there. Saves you watching a client all night getting frustrated
BTW what client are you using? On the bittornado client if you click the advance tab you should see the list of seeders/leechers, if you see someone with 100% just hightlight them and click "finish allocation" this will allow you to directly connect to the seeder and you should get the pieces direct from them and not others trying to download the torrent
