Default PSP Gurus - Help Needed

Today I connected my PSP to the net and downloaded the latest version of the software, part way through the install it shut down (unit was connected to mains so it wasn't a loss of power) now when I try and switch it on the green light comes on for 20secs and then goes out. Nothing happens on the screen.

Is the unit completly stuffed or can I fix it, I can't afford to buy another

Oh dear, you`ve bricked it!! Give Sony customer support a call 08705 99 88 77 and tell them you updated the latest firmware and the psp turned off and now wont come back on! They`ll send you a reconditioned one and collect yours! If comes with 2.71 firmware and a older circuit board downgrade it to 1.5 then you can play "backed-up" games from the memory card.

Why would you want to d/load the latest software? What you want is to downgrade to 1.5 then use devhook to switch to and from 1.5 and 2.71 then you dload all games from the net
