Default Flocking

I'm thinking about getting some door cards flocked. I don't have any experience with it. People who have had it done, can you tell me whether you get the flock material coming off all the time - like every time you touch it do you get little hairs coming off and going all over the place or does it stay put?

Also - how does it last long term. Does it go bald?

Cheers,

Daniel

I'd also still like to hear Doug's response to Dan's questions, as I would like him to do my dash, but have the same concerns as Dan .

Please tell me where he has suggested he was going to do it himself ? He's just asking about the longevity of the finish, as he has NO EXPERIENCE of it, like most of us have none . I am interested in the same questions being answered by someone who IS experienced in flocking .

Here is what i PMed Danny:

The fibres will not fall out if you use the correct 60 Kv electro static equipment to embed them in the adhesive and the adhesive I use is a super strong two part epoxy.

I can knock up some samples if people want to feel before they buy?

Cheers,

Doug.

I must admit i do like alcantara, but have you seen the cost of proper alcantara?

It is hugely expensive and thats with out even paying someone to fit/trim it.

Flock has much better anti glare properties.
