nokia N80 camera help
got an N80, got a 3megapixel camera but the quality is shite, its just the pictures come out MASSIVE. the quality isnt much better than my old 6600, but the picture is about 6 times the size, its really annoying.
anyone know how to change this? ive messed about with the settings which basiclly changes is from 3mp down to about 1mp, which means the picture is smaller but slightly worse quality.
really frustrating!
ive got a 2megapixel digital camera thats like 5 years old and the quality is sooo much better than my phone - which should be better in theory!

Hello,
There are so many settings on the N80 for the camera it is easy to fook the picture up by not having it quite right.
I advise that you keep the macro setting off and keep it on landscape unless you are doing close up shots (thats the little switch uner the camera lense if you're not sure. The flower is macro).
Keep it set on 3mp. You can play about with colour balances and other stuff but I wouldn't bother. When you take a picture, make sure you keep really still and stay still for a few seconds after you have pressed the button.
You can also set the cammera up in shooting mode for different circumstances.
You can get some good pictures out of the N80 under the right circumstances.

If your phone isn't on V4 software, get it upgraded.
Press *#0000# and it will tell you what software you're on. Mine is on V4.0623. It's like I'm using a different phone. almost all of the little glitches are gone.

Link to the SMS accelerator. It's installed on my phone and it's mint! Loads faster.

This can be loaded onto the phone by bluetooth, USB cable or Infrared.
To update your firmware, use the USB lead you got with the phone and go to the follwing address.

Follow the on screen instructions but before you update your phone, I suggest you shut all Nokia related software and plug your phone into the PC. Wait for it to load the drivers (comes up with new device found and all that shit) when it says your device is installed and ready to use, then open the updater and follow the on screen instructions.

Just don't run PC Suite or the firmware updater until windows has loaded the drivers for the phone.
Plug your phone into the PC and it should come up with the found new hardware bollocks. Just wait for it to finish installing the drivers and it tells you your new hardware is installed and ready to use, and run the firmware updater.

You need the PC suite to send the SMS accelerator to the phone anyway.
I already had PC suite installed before I connected the phone by USB for the first time ever (I always used bluetooth before hand).
