Don't even entertain this kit

I bought it last year with the intenion of using it to monitor 3 places on the property.

Bought all the correct wire and terminations and even then, the picture was fuzzy as fuck with shitloads of interfearence on all cameras - not worth the money

buy a propper kit and do it properly

get a dedicated dvr instead of using a computer, can get a low entry one for under £300 with 4 channels and audio.

Mines very similar to this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LATEST-8-CHANN...em200042750739

Its good for both day & night time. No fuzzy pictures or strange sounds. The quality is there although it is a bit pricey and you'd be hard pushed to see the cameras but the best thing is there all remote controlled which is great if you want to lay in bed watching the fireworks outside

If you want something REALLY good, get a wireless webcam/server all in one. Either one from linksys or axis, the axis is better but more expensive.

Neither need a computer left turned on, it can email you capture pics or videos send SMS messages, etc.

I've turned off the password for the next 1/2 hour, so you can see it, but it is getting pretty dark here.

send me a pm tomorrow and I'll sort you out a password.

Its better to have 1 or 2 quality cameras than 3 or 4 pants ones.

Some of the F1 teams use the Axis camera in there garages to monitor whos in there.

right home now , for a little while anyways

fasterfords just checked your pm link, is that screen shots you've put on that page or it that part of what the camera software does?

you stated ftp, ive no idea what that means?

the Axis 207w i take it you plug it into the mains, then have it wirelessly conected to your wifi router thing, then is contantly records to somewhere?

say i went away on holiday for 2 weeks, when i get home can , i view the footage? wheres it stored etc?

i like the idea of remotely viewing the cam on my pda, soon to be upgraded to a 3g pda mobile, so 1Mbps + internet conection

Thats the one, its not too good at night, so you'd need a security light to come on if something was going on.

I can set mine up for you to see tomorrow if you like.

The Axis one can email you video footage or stills of anything it detects or it can FTP it to a webspace so you can view it anywhere. If you want to record all the footage you'd need a PC or online storage to keep it all.

I've set mine up to upload the last 200 stills, which is a couple of days worth, you can increase that to whatever you need.

Guys,

Im using this at home.. http://www.ledset.com/camwiz/

Its stupidly cheap but packed full of features! You can use pretty much anything as a camera - webcam, TV card with camera connected, CCTV capture card etc...
