Default Do You Ebay.........?

Do you ebay ?.

Have you had a bargain, bad experience, pros & cons of ebay ?, most people have visited ebay, so lets get peoples tips or warnings of what to do or not to do when buying or selling, advice etc. Later on it would be nice to do a help on ebaying.

I ebay quite a bit mate - mainly sell these days, but I won't buy anthing with a value of over about £25 unless the person has over 10 positive feedback. I know it's not fair on new people, but this method means I have never had a bad experience.

Always send stuff registered post or signed for post when selling. That way it is insured up to about £50 and you don't get idiots receiving goods and claiming they never did and wanting their money back.

If you buy big money items off people with cr*p feedback (unless you are collecting and paying in person) you are mad.

Always keep good comms as well. E-mail with all details, when sent, etc, etc, and people are nicer if there is a problem.

My feedback's about 33 now with 100% positive, and several people I have sold to have bought direct off me outside of e-bay with confidence as a result (although I still wouldn't do this myself).

Have had a few messers on ebay, ive managed to build up 78 + fb and no negatives, if you can find equally decent people on there then its a great place.

Have bought and sold a lot of stuff on ebay.

However just got my escort cossie via ebay and 700 miles later, need new diff, and head gasket has gone.

typical, no come back atall except a visit to the mans door to make my disgust plain !!

Glen

Isn't that YOUR repsonsibility/problem??
You expected the cossie to be new?

Why did you not view/inspect the car before purchase? That way these things won't happen

Most negative stuff on e-Bay is the buyers own bloomin' stupidity or fault
I have sold stuff in the past and buyers have NOT bothered to read the information given in said advert

Haven't had a problem with buying as such, just one niggly thing that could've been sorted but the seller couldn't be aRSed and I still have his address for a visit should I ever be in the area

Think about what you're doing on e-Bay, don't expect everything to be new, read descriptions, have an IQ higher than 5 and you'll be ok

So that he doesn't go back to sellers door to express his disgust, what's the point

Gaz, I TOTALLY agree on that point, had over 40 people not leave ANY feedback for me what-so-ever, that REALLY gets up my nose

James Raby, I always e-mail them to ask them if they received everything OK and to leave feedback with the link to the item - majority of the time they then do it. Only had about 5 not leave feedback.

Agree though - when they don't it really gets up your nose!

Yes, I Ebay have done for a while I've got quite a few good feedback but 1 neg from a bloke who didn't pay after winning an auction

My profile is - "rapid-ford"

I've dealt with a lot of people off the board that don't realize it's my company.

thats the problem with ebay - i can't be totally honest and neg everytime waster non payer because they will neg me back and where will that get me???

so as with life take the rough with the smooth and deal with it!!

Cheers
