I need to make my fuel guage on my Diesel escort Van read empty even though its nearly full. I cant say why but does anyone know how i could do that. If you turn the ignition off the needle stays where it was . I need to trick it somehow. Any ideas

I dont want to syphon the tank. I filled it up at the weekend before i found out it needs to be empty by this weekend. If only i could have been one of my old cars i could have driven for half an hour and it would be empty but i,d have to drive this to Scotland and back to empty it

When it's just me it's always about 1/4 to 1/2 as soon as faye gets in it goes to the red
My car must hate me, it knows i'll get my ass whooped one day!

disconnet the sender wires, take the clockes out and push the needle down to the empty mark, refit dials.
if you disconnet wires the needle will stay where it is.
come tell us why it need to show empty when its not, you having welding done next to the tank or something
or is your boss gunna pay you some petrol money to go somewhere or something
