I dont want to syphon the tank. I filled it up at the weekend before i found out it needs to be empty by this weekend. If only i could have been one of my old cars i could have driven for half an hour and it would be empty but i,d have to drive this to Scotland and back to empty it

i think if you have a p;ay with the wires on the sender unit, you should get it to drop, usually just earthing it out

If you ground the signal wire it will either drop or show full. If it goes full scale get a high value resistor and ground it thru this, try a 1k ohm.

You say it needs to be empty by the weekend - fooking the guage won't make it empty will it? just make it nearly full with a fooked guage

follow these simple destructions

1. go to the shop
2. buy a big jerry can
3. put the fuel in to it

sit back and relax knowing that you have got a few quids worth of fuel and a fully working motor

just don't blow yourself up or let it leak

It won't fall sorry, just changed the clocks in my escort diesel van. You are going to have to simulate an empty tank, which requires a signal of some kind.

disconnet the sender wires, take the clockes out and push the needle down to the empty mark, refit dials.
if you disconnet wires the needle will stay where it is.

come tell us why it need to show empty when its not, you having welding done next to the tank or something

or is your boss gunna pay you some petrol money to go somewhere or something
