Default Car on V Car?

What does this mean exactly?

I'm thinking it's been written of or stolen and declared as a write-off or something but surely it would just be Cat C/D or something?

Thanks

V-CAR = Vehicle Condition Alert Register.

Could be any of these mate...

• Clocking
• Theft
• Hidden write-off damage
• Stolen recovered
• Police interest
• Any outstanding finance
• Registration and keepers
• Any colour changes
• Imported/Exported or scrapped

It could have been from before the Cat classifications came into effect, they've only been in use a few years.

depending on the type of check you do it does say what
catogory write off it will be,the best i had was actually stating
1 stolen recoverd
2 declared a total loss,at differant dates
got in touch with last owner and the car went up in flames
who ever rebuilt my old g reg rs turbo did a good job though.
never heard of a car going on the vcar over a hair cut

Half of what they say its on the list for is bollox anyway dan!

Remember when i crashed my escort? needed a bonnet, headlight, wing and bumper. basicly a typical front corner shunt.

On the HPi report it said "Category C insurance loss - Vehicle extensively damaged but repairable - Insurer decided not to repair"

Extensively damaged? was it fuck

No no no, i think you'll find your car would of been considered beyond economical repair, i.e it would of cost more to repair than the car was worth i.e about 10p

VCAR stands for 'Vehicle Condition Alert Register'. Oops, just seen someone else has already said it.

your insurer considered the cost of the car less than the cost of a bonnet, headlight, wing and bumper

Thats all im saying (the 10p bit was a joke )
