Makes no difference to me, as ive got an any car policy anyway, but just found it interesting as i didnt know you could do that.

Is it any car or just cars bought from traders?

Ive picked a couple of cars up from traders and made use of it, saves alot of hassle
1) Go and collect car
2) Ring the number while at the address of the seller (Norwich Union) to get the cover to start from now
3) Have a brew and await the Email/Fax to come
4) Your insured so bugger off home

It is 100% legal, can be used to tax a car too

IMO its a marketing ploy by Norwich Union, as they will ring you back to try and sell you a policy for that vehicle, but the great thing is its 7 days absolutly free

I've done it twice. They didn't ask me any ebay related details either time so there seems like nothing stopping you ringing up about any car you want and getting free insurance.

Their quotes are propper crap, it's comical.

Its not an Ebay only thing,
Its a freebie Norwich Union offer to dealers,
The dealer will take it up as they can say to you
"I can offer a free weeks insurance" as a sales ploy.

NU will ask for a dealer refrence number and ask to speak to the dealer for a verification code.
