...if you leave an expensive car out in the elements (outside to the dumb
) and do nothing..not even drive it what will it do to the bodywork long term?..If there is no rust it wont rust will it?
Is there any polish etc you could use?..I have a proper car cover but its an arse to keep taken on and off to run the car up..and it always looks flat when you take it off..i feel its not doin the body much good..plus i have seen condesation at times under it...that cant be good.

I would strongly recomend a really good cover.
I had to keep my 3door outside last winter and some of last summer as i had two other cars i was working on in garage cause had no workshop at the time, i bought a really good car cover, and it was so effective at breathing that i could put it on the car wet, leave the car out in the rain, and come out when the rain finished and take the cover off and it was dry underneath
Classic additions i think the make of cover was, it was about 110 quid or so, but worth every penny

When I bought my escort, the saffy sat on the drive for 6 months.
The brakes seized up, the window rubber strips had moss growing on
them and the sunroof jammed shut.
How may cars you got outside now

Phil,
Any car will deteriorate if left outside to all the elements.
As Chip says get yourself a really good cover and give the car a blast down the road every now and then.
Remember they are designed to be used so the air-flow will dry out any moisture within the chassis legs and sills ect.
