seen em go for as little as 2500, but how much do you think id need for a good one ?


i sold my car this week and im not buying another for 2 years giving me chance to save up quite alot as i dont have tax mot's fines fixed notices, petrol and other things to pay for now, and im looking to delve into ford power.

technical wise well i know chip the fountain of knowledge so ill have no problems keeping and maintaning the car and i just want to buy something to enjoy without needing to mod it, so how much do i need for a stage 3 cossie ?


im also tempted on a escort rst, as a top spec high power one is only mid range cossie money........

 

Completely depends on the spec you want but for a good solid car with sensible mods I'd expect to pay 4-5k

 

You get what ya pay for.

I agree though between 4 and 5k.

My first saff 2wd cos was £3k tho, stage.3 bit rough round the edges but good fun, sold it for £4k

My latest one, totally standard v good nick, completely solid £4k.

You have to do a lot of searching tho IMO

 

yeh searching is no problem. working it out now and i reckon i can save a good 10k-12k for one, what sort of spec should i get for that, or am i better off with an escos ?

 

How long is a peice of string. You generally get what you pay for though!

 

let him advise you when it comes to buying too then

have a look at the cars in the for sale section of here

for 2.5k it will have a little rust and some battle scars etc.

really tidy ones, (depends on your opinion of course) go from 4k upwards

 

the 1st ever 2wd saff i got stage 1 was mint 4.5 years ago
and was only £2500 there are around you just have to look for them !

 

not really bothered on bodywork, its more reliability mechanically i am concerned about...

 

I looked at loads before buying mine

it will do your head in no end promised the world only to turn up to be a complete turd
