Quick power comparison!?
Just wanted to see how three cars with the same power compared to each other. Hopefully to see how they compare with regards to accelaration/quickness/speed etc.. And just on the normal roads (not track). The cars with uprated suspension and all running 350bhp.
The cars.
1. Escort Cosworth.
2. Mitsibushi Evo 6/7/8.
3. Nissan Skyline R33 GTR.
The comparisons.
a. Straight line.
b. Off the line.
c. Round the twisties.
Thanks for any help.

thats actually quite a hard question when you first see it but yeah evo in all 3 dont know whether cossie and skyline would be close round the twistys dont know how skylines handle
Skylines would be slightly under powered due to the weight of it against the other 2 imo, Escort Cossie might take it in a straight line but the Evo would definately be the best round the twisties because it's most advanced
the evo would have less lag than the escos.
its not really a fair comparision as the evo is newer ans more advanced..
wish ford would bring out the focus cossie and it would even things up a bit!

Thing is though what Evo would it be?? Don't the spec's vary on them therefore giving less or more lag etc?
The Escort could have the least lag of them all depending on what turbo it was running
Pub talk these posts IMO, get out there and try them Nick!
BTW, Glad to see you took my advice and got it on Pistonheads mate, looks wicked!

Funny way to compare things by handicapping the awesomely strong standard YB and RB motors by saying they have to make the same poxy 350bhp as the weak evo motor with its cadburys conrods.
but in your comparison, it would be the evo all the way i reckon

Just trying to be realistic really, obviously if i was going to keep the escos it wouldnt go much over this due to gearbox and diffs, so maybe 380
An i think the Evos are good for 400 on standards
But the Skyline well, that can go more.
So just thought i would round it off

After I had my escos engine rebuilt (about 380bhp), I raced against an EVO FQ400 from a standing start over a 1/3rd mile. We did it at least 15 times. Same result every time, EVO won, but only just, was very close. Never had a skyline I couldn't beat. Not saying there weren't any around, just never came up against one that was better.
That was in a straight line though, twisties is different. IMO EVO would win hands down on twisties.
