Default How much for a top respray??

Could be on the verge of owning a nice 3dr, now im gonna give it a full respray ie body, inner wings, boot, door sills etc......now i had in my head of a ball park figure of £1500 but got a quote of a friend and to my astonishment quotes me £2500?? Is this resonable or can i get cheaper??

Alright gary

For my S1 the full spray and sorting rust is quoted at 2k and with some special all singing and dancing laquer is 2500, remember you get what you pay for and my price is inclusive of strip and rebuild.

also to boot its another 10 years maybe out the existing 21 year old shell.

Yeah id get a proper job of him i no that, and the car being black has to be flat and polished spot on as we all know black is a mare of showing things up

my mates a paint sprayer and he reckons black is one of the hardest colours to spray,he had a hell of a job when he did my old S2 ended up costing me 3k

My mate said the same! With the car im getting shit loads of spares with it so gonna sell most of them to fund the rest of the respray Half theengine's out already so thats not a problem and plus i want a working concourse motor so gonna have to pay for the best

if your shelling out big till for a quality job you want to see
some previous work,some garages that only do insurance work
(ie putting new stuff on) can't filler and sort old cars
have seen old rs's with some crap repairs but nice paint
wafted over

Ive used matey thats given me the quote before on my previous saph, and he's well known in the area........so think the car will be in safe hands But know what you mean

best thing to do mate is give dave jackson on here (jacko)
a bell

guy owns blueovalgarage , hes a quality sprayer and body man

just painted the fast ford rs turbo and ive seen it in the flesh and its sweet , also done plenty of cossies including a black three door that is mint

id get in touch and c what he can do for ya , u wont be dissapointed mate

Thats about right mate for a PROPER full respray. As always if u know someone in the trade it can be done alot cheaper, i charge myself fook all


A mate is getting a full repsray on a granada done for 1k but thats cos its pretty much prepped to go and being done by a mates dads place, if they had 2 prep the whole car price would go up loads!!!

Seems alot but I guess you get what you pay for, Im getting alot of work done on mine propley and for harf that price
guess it helps being mates with a bodyshop foreman and painter
