they were not into the rally scene like ford and didnt have the same determination to succeed so if vauxhall had ended up that way, i dont think COSWORTH would be as famous for there road car engines as there are today!!!

obviously they have an amaZING RACING heritage before the sierra rs coswoth if f1 etc

Wasn't the 2.5 the in-house Mercedes design learning about the engine design from Cosworth?
The earlier 2.3 engines had heads cast by Cosworth but I think it was only the early 2.5 heads that were Coscast and then subsequently taken in-house by Merc.

But yes, you're right, Lee - the Mercedes and Astra both used Cosworth heads but never featured Cosworth badging - marketing decisions taken by both companies although strictly speaking I think Mercedes could have pipped Ford in using the badging on a 190 before it appeared on a Sierra

Audi RS6 all the way for me, and now very affordable.

I have seen them on the 02 reg with 50k on the clock for less than £26,000.

Whay a lot of car for the money.

And the new RS4, even clarkson rated this and even said he dared to admit, it was better than the M3....

as an afterthought here guys, in your honest opinions here, would you then say that beacuse of a flood of cossies (eventually) on the market they will decrease in value hugely.

And as one member said on here, he'd be back when hes bought first house etc, is that when everyone wants a cossie again, will the prices go through the roof??

AS PER TOPIC:
"Why is everyone selling there fords for BMW, AUDI etc."

i drive an Audi A4 Quattro 2.5 TDi as an everyday car because i know what ford quality is like!!

well i work around Fords all day, every day as a Breaker/parts supplier and i quickly realised that ALL of the newer Fords......... weather its a fiesta, focus, new focus, new mondeo etc that they are all CRAP!

i wont go into detail about how the newer cars really lack in build quality trems, or how Ford design flywheel/clutch/starter motor and stupid inlet manifold problems into cars to gain cash when cars return for servicing!

anyhows, my point is......
i work with Fords all day long and when i wanted a quality car i went for quality workmanship and not quantity quickmanship.

new fords suck, bigtime!

p.s i do own a ford, if you look at me through an Xray machine i will flow motorcraft fluid through my veins!

german quality beats british/american sales numbers any day
