Default variable boost

i would like to run a 12 point variable boost setup on my engine but have been told you can only run this with a 8 injector setup on my ECU (P8)

is this true? or is there someway around it.

i currently have air injectors controlling the boost

any info would be great

Get the right boost controller and you can do what you want.

Why the hell would anyone want 12 settings though? you do know that the footpedal on the right can be used to vary engine output?

That is correct about the four injector P8 with the MTC board .

I only have the boost control option, as mine is an 8 injector version. If you can wait until the end of the month, mine will be for sale with the Pectel loom as well... .

as chip said, 12 point seems really silly. but that was the switch that was used back in the day, so that's what people still use.

in reality, surely 3 (low, medium and high) or 4 would be enough?

EssexAaron get in contact with RP Lab. they will be able to do the conversion that you want and allow you to run adjustable boost with only 4 injectors.

it's only said that it can be done with just 8 injectors, as that was done before by some people, and others can only buy the same stuff from the supplier. they're not clever enough to write the code themselves. RP Labs are however. they have many years experience with the P8 ecu writing custom code for it to allow many different inputs and outputs

The 12 position boost pot is NOT designed to give you 12 positions of boost control people.

It was designed so to stay in the MIDDLE so that racers could adjust the boost to suit different atmospheric and humidity levels around teh world. Nothing really silly about it when used for its intended purpose.

Indeed, just a waste of time in a road car.

Indeed, one of the many reasons i think air injectors are a load of old toss.
The other main one being the fail unsafe rather than fail safe.
