FAO Existing S8 ecu owners LINK RESTORED :)
Hello all,
Any of you up for a bit of testing for me please ?
I have just down a major reworking of the new windows version software
regarding the inter PC/ECU communications and need feed back from
users.
If you try this out, I need to know the following....
1) What make PC you are using. (Or the processor type and speed)
2) What version of windows you are using ?
3) What type of com port you are using. (USB/ Proper com port etc...)
4) Did the program go online successfully or not ? (report any error messages)
5) Your ecu serial number ?
I know I did this a few months back but the program has changed much
internally to allow new wi-fi and internet features to be included at a later
date so needs to be tested again.
The program is a test version and only contains one file at present to
make the installation and test easier for you. Because of this, some of the
EDIT menus are shown but will not work properly so no need to test them.
I just need to know that the ecu goes online and displays all live data
correctly.
All you need to do is down load the zip file from the link below into any
folder you desire and unzip it then run the file "s8win.exe".
The file has been virus scanned before I uploaded it.

Hopefully, if all the tests go well I will release the full version software
before christmas and of course this will be a free upgrade to anyone with
an S8 and to anyone who just wishes to have a look.

And lets face it, Your tuner has much to lose if it becomes a success

Dave i ant bothered about the ecu it worked just as well as the doorstop before the Ł2k it cost thought fuck ups
its just now i have it in a start of MANUFACTURING MISTAKE BEING REPAIRED OR UPDATED (TERM TO MAKE IT SOUND BETTER )
I WOULD LIKE TO PUT IT IN THE SAFF BECAUSE I WILL BE GETTING RID OF THE CAR ecu and loads of crap soon !

Ok, as you have re-opened the can of worms again....
You bought the S8 on 19/11/2004
Nearly a year later, you call me to say there was issues but we couldnt
sort them out over the phone.
This could have been anything, the ecu, your car etc....
I requested you send it back to be checked over which you didnt do.
Anyway, earlier THIS YEAR (march IIRC) nearly 4 to 5 months later, you
started a slagging off post aimed at me saying I hadnt helped you when it
was in fact yourself who wouldnt help yourself by not returning the unit
for checking/upgrading when asked to do so.
I cannot be held responsible for your lack of action and the fact it took you
over a year to even try the ecu out in the first place and at least 16 months
before I had the unit back to check myself.
The ecu was well out of warranty and after much bickering on this site,
you eventually returned the unit to me for a FOC out of waranty checkup.
I did this and returned it to you as promised.
If YOU or YOUR TUNER is unable to listen to simple instructions or fail
to act on my advice then how can I be held responsible.
ECU's are NOT simple products, It is a plug and play unit but still needs
skill and experience to set up a car. This is not supplied beleive it or not.
Base maps are provided as a starting point. Engine spec/set ups all
differ in various ways.
Other tuners/non proffesionals have managed ok
Anyway, finally fed up of trying to help people on this site it gets me
nowhere and I guess trying to make amends for my past issues

answer 2 questions
1 did the ecu work from new or did you need to need to modify it
2 did you not just say i informed you within the 1st year
the ecu was in romford and i am in chessington of course there would be a delay i mean i work till 4 in the morning unlike some pepole !!
so even so am seven hour behind most pepole !!
anyway as far as i know it is sorted NEVER BEEN USED AND JUST NEEDS TO BE I WILL SAY NO MORE UNLESS YOU WANT A SLAG POST
AND I COULD HAVE HAD YOU BANNED FROM HERE YOU LET ME DOWN MORE THAN 5 TIMES

For those of us that are still using them, you are just fucking it up for the rest of us.
I understand that people may have gripes, but if you are not happy, then deal with it by all means, but stop fucking up the continued development for the rest of us. None of the comments are exactly original.
I dont care who he has let down. I dont care why. I know that this is not a very charitable attitude, but yet again it has led to something positive being turned into something negative!!!!
FFS Can somebody stop this happening every time SECS offers to develop the ECU
It is entirely possible that without these boring sniped comments that have been regurgitated over and over again Simon might be prepared to do the software development.
Apologies if this email has pissed these complainees off, but that is simply how I feel. Perhaps if bygones are left as bygones, we can work towards the future.

I explained above and a few months ago.
It always worked but when you returned it, I upgraded the software to
add extra features./improvements.
I would hardly call about 4 months a small delay. I have been crucified
by others for being a few days late let alone YOU delaying ME by that
large amount of time.
As far as I know, you have had it over 16 months before I saw it returned.
(and have postal proof of this).
Now, for all I know what has or has not happened in all that time ?
You became abusive to me for no reason even after I offered to check
out things for you after YOU caused all the delays in the first place.
Say what you like, you have said it all before a few months ago and yet
again dragged it all up on this thread for no reason even though its
all been sorted.
After YOU eventually sent it back to me for checking after verbally abusing
me I still sorted it out (and found nothing wrong) then upgraded it free of
charge, then sent it back to you at my own expense yet you still
are stirriing up old news.
If you think you can get me banned, what are you waiting for 
I started this thread as I am committed for my own personal reasons and
no other to improve my product design even though I am NOT directly
trading anymore.
Just shut the f*ck up and get off this thread and stop spoiling it so the

You are obviously cleverer than myself with electronics if you think

well a lot of times when i did the satellite the were the pic 16c84 card followed by 16f84
then the eeprom was added to the cards
then replaced by the the 16 programme once need i go on
sky version ten card was hacked by a 16 f84 +eeprom c16 version need i go on !!

Actually, I know quite a bit about the "blackdisk" and analog TV hacking
and the people/technology used aswell.
Any idiot could down load file soff the net an program chips but surely
that isnt what you meant - was it ?
How did you get round the type 07 smart cards extra XOR table
encryption on the suscription channels ?
Was the protocol checksum used as part of the line hashing algorithm
or was the 256 cut points used for scrambling limited by the same
2 second update time on all channels using cyclic redunancy of a
16 bit random seed still ?

i got a SECS S8, fucking good bit of kit IMO, but i dont have a laptop, or know what the fuck simon is going on about
what i do know is that i want ALS on the zetec turbo so hopefully simon will sort that out for me
ill pay him in stella of course
hes a fucking clever block, why some people have to go over the same old shit is beyond me.
we all know his customer service aint 100%, but then he done the SECS project as a side line and actually has a family and kids.... so may not always be able to provide for each individuals beck and call.
whats done is in the past, and if he is STILL trying to sort things for people that use his product, and actually know the fook to do (unlike me ) then TOP MAN!!!

the man's sent me equipment gave me advice offered to come to my house to help sort the car dont know me from adam but it always seems to be the same few that jump on the lets hump simon band wagon but hey they have there beef . all i know is ill stick to my own rule to find out if someones a cunt or not
