MY OPINION IS GO FOR THE FFD MUCH STRONGER

tim ,ian ,whats the score with the position of the ring gear/starter fitment with the ffd boxes? ie ive got one here with the mag bellhousing but when i mate it up to the engine the starter doesnt reach the ring gear?????,do you get different offset flywheels/starters ?

i didnt think the standard starter fitted !
as the old man was trying to find one with the "longer and thinner" front to fit a 7speed ffd ?!

my fiesta uses std starter on 6 spd ffd, but the escort has a 7 speed and it apears the offset is different ? or am i missing something?

Aly im sure i have heard to use a bmw starter with an FFD box.

Aly,

They have 2 options on the bellhousing....the (909) lightweight starter (which is a f**kin nightmare to find) and the standard one as you have on the 6 speeder....

so will i need the 909 starter to go on the 7speed mag bell ??
or change to an alloy bell and std starter?
