Default Glassfibre, Kevlar or Kevlar/Carbon Body panels

I've had some issues with the glassfibre boot for my MK2 escort - i.e the quality is crap and it don't fit... so I'm not going to ruin the look of the car by using it.

I've found another supplier that was recommended to me and have the choice of panels in either Glassfibre, Kevlar or Carbon/Kevlar...

anyone know the pros and cons of each?

I've heard that the glassfibre one will be the lightest, but I imagine the others will be stronger and hopefully less likely to be prone to the wavy/warped look of glassfibre panels. cost isn't really an issue and neither is the bling factor of carbon as it will be painted anyway...

As far as I have been made aware:
Carbon is the lightest but it is a totaly rigid structure and brittle.
Kevlar is almost as light, flexiable but very expensive.
Glassfibre weights the most, flexable and cheep.
A carbon kevlar mix is the best compromise for strength and weight but is expensive.

thanks folks.. would order the book but i need to order it today. I'll have a word with the supplier i reckon.. (probably should have done that in the first place but i was after unbiased opinions ) could be good for future reference though.
I suspect this isn't exactly F1 grade stuff we're talking about as it's not that expensive but if it's good enough for John Cross it'll probably do for me

aiii...

just spoken to John and he reckons the glass one will be fine for me.. plus they have one ready made, and the bonnet and boot on my friend Andy's car look good so glass it is.

Plus he's bring it to Lydden on saturday (where i'll be anyway) so it saves me the delivery. Top fella

I deal with greg at the totton branch mate and on tuesday i picked up my double carbon tail gate for my rs2000 (mk5) it needs minor prep work before fitting as you`d expect (drilling holes ect) but its so much lighter than standard its unreal and like you say its not big money either

I'll get some tonight mate...

the site's www.xsportracing.com

obviously being fibreglass there are a couple of bits that will need minor attention where it came out the mould, but it really is a world better than the last one I had... and the boot/bonnet on Andy Pipe's race mk1 is top quality as well.
