FAO Engine builders lol
reet, just building up my ZETEC turbo motor...
just nailed the crank in the block
and was then gonna put the pistons on the rods
and then got a little stuck lol
the pistons (wiseco) have a little dint in the them as they have an offset pin, this points to the timing belt end - i know that much lol
but the rods (carrillo), well, they dont have the usual 1,2,3,4 stamped on them which hains says must face the exhaust side...
they all have 2 stamped on one side, and i guess the part no. on the other.
sooooooooo, should the rods go on the crank with the little cutouts for the tab bits on the big end bearing to locate in, on the exhaust side, or inlet side????
doh
as they were one offs, i gave the pistons and rods to wiseco and never got them back so cant check
help please

it dont even show a decent pic in the haines manual lol
maybe a few pics will help?
pistons with offset pin, dint in topo points to timimg belt end.
rods, you see the little grooves for locating the big end bearings, should this face the front of the block, or rear?

The little grooves are just for the shells to sit in.
Try putting two rods side by side and then turn one over, if they are still exactly the same (ie nothing offset) then it makes no difference, so just pick a way and put them in.
