Default problem with dump valve i think.

I fitted a dump valve to my car about 6 months ago and it has worked fine untill now.what happens is, when on idle the boost sits at about 0.2 below 0 where it used to sit well below that. It still boosts fine but there is no sound from dump valve when I release or change gear now. Instead its gone back to the chatter I used to get. I had the valve off and it moves freely enough. It is leaking a little air tho when on tickover. I assume its not the dump valve coz surly it would still work when boosting and releasing. I checked the seal inside and there was a small split so ive replaced it. all was fine for about 2 min then it stopped working again. I took it all apart again but all was fine. refited it and again it was ok for about a min then stopped working again. tryed refitting the standard valve but the same problem persists. not quits sure how these this work so what should i do now?

block the connections off.

The prob is def the d/valve. Sounds as if there is still an airleak if the guage aint where its supposed to be...

Have you checked all the vacuum pipes?
Are you sure there is not a split in one of them?
I know when one of my vacuum pipes come off on the saph, it would still boost properly, but the woosh from the valve was pathetic and i got chatter aswell!!!

Couldn't tell ya about the gauge though, i ain't got one yet
