My bird keeps on about wanting to move to Oz cos she travelled through there a couple of years ago......is it worth considering??? The only thing that i can see is better is the weather ...you will still have to work for a living and i doubt the wages out there are as good as what you can earn here...Are they???

I doubt it, seen as we have no rights to benefits etc and have paid a lot to get in (its not easy, even on a spouse visa) and are going there to work, not sponge off them.

It's not like they have tons of brits coming in on the back of a truck every day

I don't think you can just choose to move there and show up.

I think you need to have a job lined up before you go and it has to be one that they classify as a 'critical skill' that they cannot fill from within.

y2k rs yes your right it does have its fair share of problems the same as everywhere else,but its the country for me.
the way of life out there is SO much better its unreal.and i think its a far better country to bring my kids up in.they speak english in there schools

Mate, you are as much an immigrant in the eyes of the aussies as a Kosovan is here.

As a british kid living in Australia I experienced their significant dislike of brits first hand.

Going on holiday and living there are two different things.

I have been back many times since, even took a 3dr cosworth with me the last time so not dissing the place totally just saying you will experience some of the things that immigrants here face.

I been twice travelling and i Me and wife are going for a month in Nov. This is to see if Lindsay would like to move out there, cos i have wanted to for 6 years now

Wages are better in most jobs, i can go out there and earn well over 400 uk pound(1000's dollars) per 1000 bricks! And i can lay a 1000 a day easily! Down south in England is about that money but too expensive to live!!! Only comparing it to up here!
As for Aussies coming over here, its because they fancy a change of life..simple! Wouldnt do for us all to be same! Anyway let em come more work for us over there then. This place is a wank hole and ill be glad to see the back of it!

Initially we are moving to Melbourne as that is where Kate is from and she still has family there. There is a small chance that we may move to Brisbane/Gold coast area as housing is a bit cheaper. We've just accepted an offer on our house so as soon as thats sorted we're off, quotes for shipping (car and household stuff) and everything sorted already
