Probably bits of shite or rust in your fuel tank? Bosch fuel pumps don't take kindly to this, you may be best to run a pre pump filter before fitting another pump.
Just wondering if it's worth reversing the polarity momentarily to see if it can be dislodged?

Sorry my mistake, I thiught it was an external pump The metal mesh filter should stop harmful bits entering the pump.

reason i originally mentioned rust and shite was because years ago I sold a guy a pump for a sierra which he returned shortly afterwards as faulty anyhow i replaced it and a few days later he was back again with the same problem... we then took a look inside his tank and all was revealed, lots of rusty flakes.
