very good cars, awesome track tools, handle amazingly. 150bhp out the box, 7.3 to 60, 134mph top end. seen the one on PF for sale, looks tidy. ive had loads of clios and clio 16v, never had a williams tho, but would like one as a fun track car.

Just want something with a bit of power to boot, not too expensive to buy as she wants some decking and stuff and something decent looking. Quite like 205 gtis too....

Ive got one as my daily car, bloody brillaint!!! I love very minute of it.......
few probs u need to look out for are the very ..very delicate gearboxes that die, rear arches are a nightmare as they always rust but other than that if they are looked after they are bullet proof.
Mine only runs a full system and ramair filter and the noise it makes wakes the kids up round the corner.............well so there mum said the other morning as she stood in the road shouting at me!
Im looking to sell mine shortly though....must get back to ford ownership!

Not that big a step up mate. My old one was rated at 150bhp which is the same as a Williams. I loved it. 2nd best car I've owned after the beemer for fun and enjoyment.

The Williams 2 is considered the worst one of the 3 available. The 1st one was very good. Then Renault fooked about and made it rubbish (in the opinion of Renault lovers...) then renault took notice of the thoughts and made the W3 back how the W1 was.
However, the one on here looks ok visually. Cambelt replacement is Ł400 (more from renault), so that's sorted.
(My missus has a 16v and that's how much her's just cost)
K&N will be making it sloweras these engines get very hot and space is tight in the bay. Better to run either a normal filter or the missus has a hillpower induction kit: ram-air filter with a big heatshield and ducting to it.

Plastic front wings (un-available) so make sure they're not cracked. Rear arches, as said, are the big rust spot and the boothatch lower sill area: there's a plastic trim which holds the water & rusts the tailgate like fook.

Cracking little car. Filter is the only mod performance-wise - and it kept up with my 150 BHP S2 !!- the 16v is 135BHP 1.8, against the Williams 150 2.0
Prices for these williams is around the Ł2k+ for a 1/2 decent one. Look on www.cliosports.net for more advice & price guides.

i had a williams engine in my Clio 16v and done 14.885s 1/4 mile. not breathtakingly quick but gives you an idea of what theyre like Lee. It had a hill power chip, stainless exhaust and induction kit, and could hit the limiter in 5th... which was about 7850rpm.
Williams would muller most fwd cars round a twisty road too
the biggest problem is french build quality

Well use the van for that then.
and you think a 'CLIO' will surfice then Lee.
get what you want and fook the customers,if your work is good enough Lee,which it more than likely it is,then i don't see why they should be put off from giving you work just because of what car you drive.
