Default British coins question...fifty pence pieces

Gareth parhaps? Are you a mint man, lol

Had an odd habit of saving 50 pence pieces which are different from the normal ones..

I've got 6 designs designs of the new smaller coin and 1 larger coin from 1994...

See piccy below...

Does anyone know how many different ones have been made since they reduced the size of the coin in the late 90's (think it was 1997-1998)

Well, Smit, it looks like around Ł3.50 to me. Sadly, thats not enough to even buy a gallon of fuel.

Keep saving!!

Sadly Christian you are wrong.......

I only have Ł3.00 as the old coin in the middle is a larger old coin which is not legal tender anymore

Keep counting...........

Nice links thanks...I've got all of the newer ones except the victoria cross (2006) new one which i haven't seen yet. (Also the link has no picture of it!)

You will be surprised, bet none of those coins to a collector are worth more than a quid each

You can get a book which is like Glasses but for coins, will tell you all you need to know in there

This thread reminded me of a two pound coin i was given as change in a pub a few months back. It was made in 1986 so i thought it must be rare and gave it my gf to keep safe.

I got it off her last night and looked it up on the web this morning and it could be worth Ł200

Its one of the first to pounds coins realeased and it celebrates the '86
common wealth games.

i've got quite a few Ł2 coins with ve day and d day and something else on from about 1995 ish, didn't know there was a market for stuff like this!

When my grandad died going through stuff and he has a 100$ bill from texas from the mid '50s, is that worth anything interesting?
