oh shit,....been sacked,..advice needed UPDATE
ok story goes...
got a phone call this morning, its my mum saying she needs me to pick up her pills etc from chemist....
so i phone work and tell boss, he winges and i get to work about 20 mins late...
then at 3 oclock, i ask for paper for a job....im a printer,... that somehow turns into a barny, although i was COMPLETELY calm, and he brings up me being late,....
i explain, he says not his problem and says...
" if you want to fuck off just tell me"...
i retort,..
"i will if it comes to that.."
he then says,....well tell you what get your things and fuck off now....and orders me off premises, and says cheque in the post.....
sooooo
where do i stand...

tribunal time - unfair dismissal..............OR constructive dismissal if there has been a lot of stuff going on - but obviusly don't tell your employer about it being constructive, as you will loose your case

How long have you been working there and have you got a contract. You should be entitled to work your agreed notice or an amount of notice based on how long you have worked there.
You can only be sacked and removed from the premisis for things like aggrevated behaviour although the law in this area is getting more and more complex.

I'm confident that working for over 12 months entitles you to one months notice at least.
Thing is if only two of you were present then he can easily argue that you were being dissorderly.

Give him some time to calm down, if he doesn't phone you up to appologise and get you back into work then start proceedings against him.

it doesnt matter on the amount of time you have been there to whether you can get the employer done for unfair dismissal , as long as you have the contract you can get him done.
Wouldn't it help if you called him up, explained to him what he done is unfair dismissal and that you're going to take action on that, maybe then he would say that it was all in the heat of the moment etc etc etc? Instead of waiting around for him to give you the call asking for you back. Because it's going to go either two ways, you take action, or he gives you the job back, so theres no harm either way to be honest.
Good luck anyhoo though

well,....mate of mine has just been round, and have discussed,.....
do i phone him and appologise and get my job back, although he was being a cunt,....
or....
do i say sod it,
and take my part time turbo rebuild business full time, and concentrate all my efforts on that....
i prefer the second option.....
and funnily enough,....within 10 mins of me getting home, i had 2 phone calls asking for turbo rebuild, and 1 of which is posting it, and the other is dropping it off tonight...
blessing in disguise maybe?????

nooooooooooo dont apologise to him.
go in and ask him if he is cooled down yet and ready to apologise?!
if not press on with unfair dismissal and try making a living from your turbo work!

Turn up for work as normal tomorrow.
LET HIM SPEAK FIRST:
If he tells you to go, refuse to leave until you have been paid all you are owed, if he is letting people go he may have money troubles.
If he doesn't say anything , carry on as normal, get your Turbo business better prepared and in a month tell him to stick his job.

go the the CAB, and find out about your rights, as everyone has said I'm pretty sure that after 12 months they can't just sack you because they feel like it, they either have to make you redundant with a suitable package, or give you written and verbal warnings. Write him a formal letter stating that you will be taking legal action regarding your dismissal, and give him a timescale , say 7 days, to reply to that. You might find he's back on the phone rarther quickly offering your job back with a substantial pay rise . Don't make the first move, you have done nothing wrong, you even had the courtousey to ring him in the morning, and explain that you were going to be a bit late, not like you just fell out of bed and couldn't be arsed to go in
Stick to your guns mate, even if you want to do your turbo buisness then at least you might get a nice settlement out of them

dont mean to be negative and i hope you get sorted out
but im sure he will have a different story to the one you have. and the fact that he needs a printer means nothing, any job, anywhere, theres always someone unemployed and capable of doing what you do.
maybe worth swallowing your pride, sort stuff out with him and work there until you can set your turbo rebuild business up gradually.
