how can you say that when you lot have mustangs and lightnings?and you seem to do a good job of exracting horsepower from the focuses as well!

but you dont really have an rs brand which is a bummer for you.

Yes, pretty much all of them. They are esentially the same body shell.

well to coin a phrase.... the grass is always greener on the other side.
to us everyone here has cossies.(well to a degree)but even though they may seem common to you the mustangs etc are cool.my other half is waiting to get hold of a shelby gt500 when they start to get out, instead of her cossie. but at least we will still have mine.

if RS500 is what you want go for it just make sure you get the right one for you, it will become expensive to keep shiping parts over if it breaks

I'm pretty sure the onluy loop hole to importing a UK car that hasnt passed USA crash tests etc is to import it on a 1year basis that you're using it to tour round with. After that you can no longer use it on the road. Someone will correct me if I'm not right about that I'm sure!

I dont know if us crash test would apply. I would have a hard time driving it on the street anyway with all the idiots on the road. I had a near perfect XR4TI 3speed auto, and some bitch hit me. I was at a dead stop, at a light no less and she hit me going about 40mph (forgive me dont know kph). I looked and looked for another one and god GAVE!!!!!!!!! me a completly!! PERFECT 5speed. now Im scared to drive it unless its on a track.

Hate to burst your bubble there buddy but the Cosworths were not legal to be imported to the states, except for the small turbo Escorts and you need a licensed importer and about 10 grand to get it road legal. You guys over there don't know how well you have it.

Since you already have an XR4Ti you can do what I and most of us have done and convert your XR to cossie spec. Most people stop at the body kit but some have went all the way. The car in my sig was an '87 XR4ti auto when I bought it, now it's a 4x4 cossie powered 3dr replica. If you don't want the hassle of doing a conversion you can always get a Mustang SVO, they were powered by the same SOHC 2.3 in the XR but came intercooled and 205BHP from the factory, they also came with 4 wheel vented disc brake and Koni adjustable suspension. The Saleens, Cobras, Roush and Steeda cars are also nice but expensive.

If you have the coin you can always buy my 3dr replica... NOT

Welcome to my nightmare, Canada has a different rule regarding motor vehicles, anything 15 years or older can be imported no questions. In the states the car has to be 25 years or older or fit some pre-determined criteria (read expensive). I was so frustrated that I ended up building the car I wanted, what's interesting is the engine in my car (green top 4x4) is US emissions legal, it came with cats and an O2 sensor but the car (1992 Sapphire) it came out of is not legal for the states, go figure.

the bubble was not verry big in the first place Im keeping the XR4TI jest thinking about a go-fast goodie or two. true the svo has a few bits extra but I would like to keep it as (euro ford) as possable.

If I really was going to Inport a car

Don't you need a pilot license for one of those?

Good luck with the Merk, there are a ton of sources for performance parts just do a google search. One guy is making over 700hp to the wheels with his and there are quite a few that do very well in sanctioned road racing/autocross events.

sorry i love euros. in the us, fords high end cars are sweet, low end cars are trash, ive owned a few.
as far as muscle cars go: the only replacement for displacment is BOOST.

oppinions are like a-holes everyone has one!

well i love what ever goes fast. and that even includes some vauxhalls over here and thats saying something for me to say that.
i have to say once youve been blown it aint same without.

i have 350bhp from mine and the surge of a turbo makes it oh so worth it.but if i had to get rid it would have to be a v engine.
shame you lot cant have the proper cossies becuase i reckon they would open a few eyes in the tuning world over there for such a small type of car.

yea most of the tuners hear are teenagers who's momies and dadies bought them a honda. thay slap an intake, exost, chip, and NOS on and think its a race car. Its pretty funny when I pull up to their meet. no one Knows what an XR4Ti is. thay usualy acept a race but back out after checking it out. like thay will lose face if they lose. the cars Im into are the cars that dont look that special but will smoke you if cought off gard.

Ive tryed to convence someone my XR was a escort onetime but it did not workhttps://passionford.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_mrgreen.gif
