PC Keyboard help!!!

PC Keyboard help!!!
Afernoon fellow PF members
right my problem, last week i had to re-format my comp because it was truely f*cked up, when it came to setting up windows, i had to choose a setting which only had american english, so my keyboard is set up in a american style keyboard where the @ is top of the 2 & not in its normal place & i have no bloody pound sign
how the fook do i sort this problem out, its bloody pissing me off trying to send emails etc

Im making the assumption its windows xp?
Start > Settings > Control Panel
Regional and Language Settings
Regional Options all to UK
Languages tab > Details
Make sure the keyboard is set to UK and not US
Start > Settings > Control Panel
Regional and Language Settings

And as a cheat if for some reason this refuses to work.
In your email, when typing, when you want the pound sign hold down the alt key, type 156 on the number pad, release alt, and you have a pound sign.
