Tyres arnt new, been around a good 3yrs. Just not production tyres, they ones Khumo make to use when doing promo shows etc. Stupidly expensive and last about 5mins (but v.grippy at least).

And yeah, engine conversions in AE86s are dead common, jus like Mk2 Escorts etc.

Heres a quality Irish mini documentary on drifting and McNamara with the aformentioned AE86...

Part1

Part2
www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCSzDQCkLTw

Only gripe is the way its edited he says "its not a race" but hes only on about qualifying, as 30secs later he is explaining the twin drifting and basically explains it as it is, a very sideways race with complicated rules

I didnt know there were ones that had been around for 3 years, only seen them fairly recently.

Steve, i had heard that kuhmo were doing road legal red smoke tyres now, is that not the case then?

The tyres are road legal, just not production ones.

"Drift racing" is the gayest americanised term ever, thats all, hate that term
Its not a race as such tho, but the twin drifitng has all the elements of a race. Its not ballet dancing, its not a race, its something far more complex thats in the middle somewhere

Coldo- No, your mums blowjobs do tho, she pretty good when her dentchers arnt in. Mmmm, gums

Your mum jokes bottom of the barrel indeed

On a more serious note, is your mum still washing in sea water to keep her crabs fresh?

If you want to watch proper drifting where they are actually racing and not prancing around and being judged on angle or some other gay lord factor then go and watch ice racing. 4WD, 4WS and sideways almost everywhere. Mansell and Prost both ended up doing that some years back.
Beats all this chavved up mobile burnout BS any day of the week - ooh look smoke! I'm a dragon chase me!

See I can't tell if you're joking or deadly serious. If you think drifting looks easy then i'd suggest you go have a go at it. If you want examples of just how hard it is look at Tiff Needell when he entered D1GB recently. There you have a fucking amazing driver who in all fairness was shite compared to the proper drifters.

The way i read his comments it wasnt that drifting was easy, just that it was pointless.

Like balancing a snooker cue on your nose, i doubt its easy, but i dont really find the idea of watching it very interesting.

I can kind of see his point when comparing it to ice racing, but i still enjoy watching drifting anyway personally
