Default Gearbox help please

Im having loads of gearbox probs at the minute. the lsd box in my xr2t started leaking oil badly from the inside, removed it but cant see any problems inside so im guessing its coming from around the shaft.

Anyway, fitted another box the other day, as it was being put in i noticed one of the 'selector detents' (think thats the right name), the one nearest the inner wing end, was only held in by a couple of threads. anyway tightened it back in and put the box in.

Problem is it goes into all the gears fine except 2nd. when you put it into second when rolling, it crunches then spits it out of gear. even if you try to hold the gear lever into gear it just crunches.

Im guessing the gearbox is fooked but before i cut my wrists i thought id ask if it could be down to that selector detent thing being loose before i put it in or the gear linkage needing adjusted ?

any input would be appreciated, im fed up

Cheers.

the pin you are on about is a pin with a spring which locates on the internal selsctor shaft detents to hold the shaft in place to stop it jumping out of gear try changing the pin for a new one if it still does it the sycros are probally very worn.
