Default What profile tyre?

On an Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3 with 15" Rims on at the moment it has 205 60 15" H

Thats what they come with. Like Saff cossies etc do.

Could drop the profile to 50 if you want, and Toyo Proxes even come in a 205/45 if you want.

Could go 215/45 as Dunlop and Toyo do them.

Or 225/50s if the wheel not stupidly thin.

saffs came with 205-50-15.

just get 17" wheels.

But Steve, surely you realise that by dropping a 60 profile to 50 or 45 without altering the width is going to fairly seriously throw the speedo out? Therefore those 205/45's would be a no-go.

I would get away from the 'H' rating though!!

Opps, got Saff bit v.wrong

Who cares about the speedo reading, the shorter gearing is much more fun than having a bob on speedo

You need to get to 235 wide before a 50 profile is really acceptable if 205/60 was the original size and by then the sidewall is only about 5mm lower.

Its not just that Steve, have you actually ever seen a car with tyres on that are smaller than it was designed to run? They look fooooking ridiculous. There was a Focus on here a while ago with 195/45/16's on it!

with the 205 60 15 on thay look like bus tyres from what i can make out from the jap handbook you put 205 50 15 it gives both for the rs and gsr, will see if i can photocopy the page
