Default handsfree users - mic location?

ive got a CW-&k (or whatever its called) in my sierra. the mic is up by the map reading lights

trouble is people struggle to hear me properly

where do you have yours?

that is the correct position for the mic.

The problem you have is your car is noisy/loud because it is an older car with probably a loud exhaust, running on over sized tyres for that car. remember it came out of the factory with different wheels/tyres and thus the road noise will be different.

Also it might pay to check to see if the mic is on something that is attached to the rook of the car- it may be better if it is moved on to the roof lining using a bit of velcro, while you're at it check the air vents are not blowing at or towards the mic.

The nokia mic has 3 recomended positions.
1 Near the light on the roof of the car
2 Drivers side A pillar trim
3 Ontop of the dash board above/on the instrument binicle.

I have only ever seen position 3 used once- on all other cars Position 1 is about 90% and position 2 10%

i have the pioneer bluetooth headunit and ive fitted the mic at the top of my a pillar and people can hear me even with the window fully down

try the a pillar if not then ther isnt much plcaes left lol

well u aint exactly a short arse- check the mic for any breaks-

If moving it doesn't solve the prob I'll send you a new one FOC

same as me jim, my mic is on the A pillar, but people struggle to hear me now, keeps cutting out

Mines up by the rear view mirror, and runs via bluetooth to the phone which is usually in my pocket . Never had any problems

i have the same kit, my mic is in the same place and peeps hear me fine never had any probs, just to troubleshoot the problem have you tried another phone?

always used to fit them at the top of the a pillar at halfords mate- unless there was an airbag there, in which case it would go on top of the drivers binnical..

just keep it loose n wrap it round your neck when you get in the car
