Default Barcelona...... anyone been, need some help?

My Boss is flying to Barcelona in a few hours with his `frat´buddy (yes, they are yanks).

There is a small chance he will be awake during daylight hours to do some siteseeing whilst he´s there. He knows nothing about Barcelona and all I can tell him is that there is some great architecture there.

From a tourist point of view where would you head in the city? Whats worth seeing? Any recommendations for bars, clubs (private clubs would suit them down to the ground).

i recomend the beaches as they are rarely visited by tourists

also, tell them to beware of pickpockets, particularly around la ramblas

When we were there, we wanted to see the NouCamp, as it's a spectacular stadium.....

So much to see round there - we just kept walking for hours -real tourist city. Love it!

Nick is right, Ramblas bad for pick pockets.

Port Olympique is nice place to head for bars and clubs.

Gaudi Cathedral is well worth a visit. Amazing place.

He will have fun anywhere in Barcelona. Nice city

Again, pick pockets and tell em to watch where they walk at night, stick to well lit public areas etc. Same as any city really.

Cheers Lee, i´ve heard the architecture is amazing, due to go there next month so hope I get chance to see it for myself.

My Brother went a couple of months ago, but he spent his whole time at a rave?!

Barcelona is a fun city i spent 4 months there at the start of the year.

Las Ramblas be VERY VERY careful of pickpockets a chap i know had a 10gig camera nicked when he chased after him donw the sub way the guy chucked a ballon full of oil in front of him hence he slipped the rest of the way down the fucking stairs,

Dont wander of the main streets at night i know of countless people that have beem mugged/attacked robbed,

The Gaudi cathedral is amazing but is genrally very busy and hot,

Over near the cable car is a great sea food restaurant called Barceloneta

If you are in Placa De Catalyunya then head away from the Ramblas on the right and there are some great shops designer etc,

The Nou Camp is amazing i have been to see a few matchs there you can also do a tour,

The place has over 12000 bars and restaurants if you cant have fun there then you are strange,
Oh in the old part of town towards the corner of the marina is a great wine bar and tapas bar worth looking at,

Taxi from the airport should ba approx 20 Euros
