Cosworth Chevette.. Or is it?
Finally got round to pulling the head off my chevette to get the headgasket done..
there are old water marks on the block and lots of oil leaking on the bulkhead end of the engine, suspected from headgasket.
Now, were unsure what bottom end we have. I cant find the 200/205 etc Number on the casting, and unsure on what pistons we have.
The guy who i bought it off said the block may be wired.. which i have confirmed, so i need a new set of coopers rings (£250 ) probably a different headgasket because the group a one i bought is unlikley to be suitable and possibly a stud and nut kit?
Here are some pictures of what ive got. My mate thinks its a really old transit bottom end and some transit low comp pistons with valve marks.
This is my first Cosworth engine, im not doing the work myself. I need all sorts of info and advice. Namley what have i got and how to cure my problems?

Block its hard to tell from that picture, but i will have a look at mine from the same angle tomorrow to be certain, if its a 200 or a 205 its normally VERY visible on the side.

Pistons look like my 2wd cossie ones, but as you say its not a great picture.
Im sure Stu@msd or someone will be able to give a definitive answer though as they build these things all the time
