And i mean proper night shifts i.e. 8pm - 6am?

I've done the last couple of days and they do suck arse

I'm working with a firm helping relay the runways at Stansted Airport, its gets quite daunting at times when theres planes landing and taking of just meters above our heads A tad noisey too

But my main moan is the daytime tele, i've just got up and the best thing on is The Care Bear Movie

 

When offshore i work 6pm to 6am and for 2-3weeks at a time! During winter i never see daylight for the whole trip

not good swapping back to days either

 

have done, i did it for about two weeks ages ago. Fookin hated it! Told em to whistle when they asked me again, i felt like a right loser

i just slept all day and worked...it was weird!

 

I did 7pm - 7am for 18 months, thank fuck thats over with

 

i worked nights for about 2 1/2 years, some 10 or so years ago now. I used to work on the national print, so was deffo night shift lol!

There were times i used to enjoy being on the night shift; like coming home in the middle of winter and being able to go to bed when everyone was getting up in the cold and going to work lol! but then they had a laugh come the evening again

Money was certainly good there but i used to hate the days when i would wake up in winter and it was dark and i didnt know if i had just gone to bed or if i had to get up and go to work! fucked up my body clock BIGTIME!

Been doing it for nearly 6 years now Its all i've ever done since leaving school. 7am - 7pm, 7pm - 7am at my last job and now i'm doing 11pm till 7am during week days and 7pm to 7am at the weekends. Usually have some time off in between working nightshifts and dayshifts so its not that bad.... i enjoy it, gives me plenty of time off Plus more money

 

Night shift in the winter isnt too bad but when your going home to bed just as the sun come up in summer thats when it get annoying

Switched to nights 18 months ago, not going back to days. More money, more time of (5 on 4 off then 4on 3 off) also just booked 5 days hols and get 11 days off

 

i quite enjoyed it, altho my nightshifts were PROPER CRAP!!! and illegal.

used to be a brewer, shift was 1:30am - 11am

fuckin awful time for a nightshift!

 

Done it for 5 years now 8pm to 7am 4 nights a week and dont work week ends any more!!!!!!

i did nights for about 3 years, was a pain in the arse tbh, esp at the airport as its always busy, when i worked on the trains we'd be in bed by 1am

but now thank fuck i just work mon - fri days

 

I work 11:30pm - 7:30am

Daytime tv is shit hence the reason i come on here

 

Would be wierd getting ratted at say 7am-10am and then having a kebab

Work nightshift at Cardiff Airport...love it, no hassle

Done a few dayshifts lately though on overtime, ugh....it sucks big time, daylight and having to wake up to an alarm...no thanks!

 

When I was at uni I'd work from 1700 to 0400 fitting bodykits and alloys to new mazdas, have a quick kip and then go to lectures, which was officially wank!

Although not as bad as standing on the dock at 0500 in january waiting to unload new cars off the boats.

 

i do 4 8pm-8am shifts, thursday - sunday. enjoy the fact i get all my hours in in 4 days, but pisses me off that it fucks every weekend up. suposed to be taking a paycut soon to which im not happy about, if it comes about they may get told to shove it up their arse and ill go back to doorwork.

I was doing security (mainly site work) at the time and FUCK ME that shit is boring!!! At least during the day there are people about to talk to and deal with, at night there is fuck all (you hope ) - and fuck all on tv aswell

Worst one was a Railtrack site in Watton-at-stone (near Stevenage iirc) in the middle of a forest over looking a deserted rail line - fuck me THAT was eerie!!!! Didn't help when I watched the Blair Witch Project the same night

 

I work permanent nights 7pm- 8.15am and its a killer.
Daytime tv is pooh even with sky but the worst thing is that i cant watch horror films anymore!
Mind you did watch Hostel the other day Top film.
The worst thing is if you dont get to bed asap and end up getting up when its nearly time to go to work or bed when its dark and up when its dark in the winter! Hate it!!!!

If you ever find good daytime tv let me know lol

I do all kinds of shift's for over 8 years now. Can fuck your clock up if your not used to being a vampire and sleeping during the day!

06:00 - 18:00
10:00 - 22:00
14:00 - 22:00
16:00 - 02:00
18:00 - 06:00

And nights is my favourite. Don't ask me why but it is

I do permanent 13 1/4 hours a night with a sat and monday night off. Its fekin POOH!! lol

I do 8.45pm to 6.30am nightshift, 4 nights, Mon - Fri. And tbh, apart from the winter months it's ok. No having to wake up to an alarm and forcing myself out of bed, just get up when I'm good and ready.

Plus, as I'm usually up at about 3, it gives me a couple of hours to do work on my car or on jobs on the house which results in a free weekend for me.

 

i work nights every four weeks and its great ,after the last train i study my rule books in the dark and with my eyes closed lol
