I sold some stuff months ago through ebay, a couple of months ago I got an email from ebay telling me to send the £2.77 I owe then for this, you had to send the money by cheque to a dodgy sounding address in london, I thought it was an scam of some sort so ignored it because I thought ebay would take the money from my account automatically as they have my bank details.
tonight I tried to bid on something like I did last night but I got the message that my account has been suspended until I pay the money by check( that is the spelling of it!) my account cannot be used!
Is it a scam and I have been virused or is it real and you do pay ebay through the post with a cheque?
looks like I will miss out on stuff as they say it will take 10 days to clear the account

I had to send a cheque to an address in london for £20 when I 1st opened my account!if that helps @ all

If you owe Ebay money for an invoice and you don't pay it then yes your account will be suspended! The amount is of no relevence at all!

thing is spadge, if they have your account details why don't thay just take it instead of wasting everbodys time with cheques?

I've never sold anything on there, how much do you have to pay to sell? Is it a percentage of the item/s? And is it the same if you're selling a car?

No-one can take money out of your account without written, signed permission from you mate. Signing up to eBay doesn't give them permission to take your money (thank fook!).

Can you view your account info in "My Ebay"? Should tell you there what's overdue.

They can't unless you have given them written permision which you havn't! They could take it from a credit card if you have one logged with them though!
It is up to you to pay them mate and if you thought this request for 2 quid odd was dodgy you should have made enquiries with them instead of just ignoring it!

they have my credit card details aswell and I can't find anywhere where it says you can pay online so I to pay them with it, the only option they give me is cheque, or us dollers with a card

Log on to Ebay and have a look at the my account section this will tell you what you owe them and will also give you ways to pay!

I am a numpty, went into my account and there it was owing £2.77 payed with paypal acount now unlocked..
never been into the my account section before
