You could goto to Absolut Zero? http://www.belowzerolondon.com/

Or Jamie Olivers restaurant 'Fifteen' in Old Street.

Places like The Ivy you would need to book well in advance. (I booked 3 months in advance!! - well worth it though)

Or you could try the Oxo Tower??

Porkie would be the best one to speak to as he's well travelled in the City!

cant rememeber the name but as you went through the front door you went down some stairs in a bar and then you looked out over the resturant floor and a lady walked round selling fags and cigars

To be honest your best bet is to take her out on a Thursday night, 'Fifteen' should still have spaces on a weekday, its only weekends that you have to pre-book.

Can definitely recommend The Ivy though, would probably cost around £250ish for 2 of you with a semi nice bottle of wine.

Langhams (sp) is one of my mum and dads fav. Never been there but they go very often.

Eagles suggestion of Pont de la Tour is about the only really good one so far in my opinion. Nice place, good food. Eating outside is lovely as well.

Fifteen is awful!

Titanic??? Jesus..

Coqd'argent is great for drinks in the summer as the view is awesome and setting really cool but food is only average

Langhams is nice but a bit old and stuffy now. Ivy is just so so overated and old in my opinion!

If you are staying at the Metropolitan Hotel there is only ONE place to eat though you big goon!!!!

NOBU! its one of the best and most famous restaurants in the world. The food is great (japanese fusion kinda stuff) and its IN YOUR FOOKING HOTEL!!!

Met bar is pony by the way its NOTHING like you think its going to be.

I work in the West End so have some ideas, St Christophers place has a few relaxing restaurants, but if you like Indian than these two are very, very good

Deya
http://www.deya-restaurant.co.uk/co-owner_2.html (owned by MICHAEL CAINE)

or

Le Porte des Indes
http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/info_restaurant_4759.html

Both are excellent Indian restaurants very relaxed and welcoming...........

Green olive, hiden in side road. Top quality italian food, bill will probably come to about £80 for 2. Its not very big either so waiter service is alot better.

Feck going to those over prices places like th Ivy, your paying for the name not the food.
