Default How much to make a small turbo Escos 300bhp???

Basically a mate has bought an Auralis Blue small turbo one.
He took it to a place up here an they want £600 to fit new actuator, chip etc..... surely that is a bit expensive for whats involved.
I heard there is DIY kits for this sort of thing. so any ideas.........

PS me personally , I would keep the 600 quid and put it towards a Big Turbo conversion but there you go

Doubt he'll get 300bhp... more in the region of 280bhp is usually max on a small turbo.

Yeah I know Lynn, I think its a waste of money TBH, especially when all his mates have 360bhp Escos`s n that, he`s gonna feel a bit short changed with 280-300 isnt he

Trust me Gareth he isnt that way inclined, he just wants a car that can live with all the rest of his mates and it just wont be with that.
Also asked him if he has considered looking for a part ex on a big turbo one to save all the hassle he is soon to be encountering, I mean he has a great bargaining tool hasnt he, he paid £18,000 for an Auralis Blue standard one with 20,000 miles, surely someone would be interested?

I wouldnt convert a 20,000 mile ST to BT personally. It would probably de-value it in my opinion. If he wanted over 300 bhp, he should have bought a BT, people who want ST, usually buy them for a reason.

hi guys my bf had brought jason hodd's mk6 escort rs2k 2300 4x4 turbo. its running 301bhp and 320lbs of torque.

the basic conversion for the rs2k is about £8k....but jason had spent all in all including the cost of the car......£25,000.

dunno if this helps ya out. but thought id put my view across

If done correctly, it would not devalue the car . However, correctly would be the best part of £3k (and would enable you to put it all back to standard if required at a later date ).
