From: Wiltshire, Bath, chippenham area!
But ARE WRC cars the best a car could possibly be for handleing????
(thinking tarmac spec as its closest to what we would use lol)
As surely they are governed/restricted tightly by the regulations, so surely they cant just do what they want??
in the same way they are TOLD what restrictor they can use on turbo ETC.
Obviously im talking 'money no object'..

Not taking anything away from the car or driver as theyre obviously both amazing but I wouldnt be suprised if popularity played a big part in the drift win.
Mike R - How many of the drivers in the handling competition of totb use left foot braking etc?

Right think i'll dig this topic back up.
Right my Escort Cossie has AP 4 pots on the front with 330 disc (I think) but has standard rears. If i brake really heavily i feel the back end going light.
How can i stop this??? Do i need to upgrade the back brakes for better balance?? If so what you recommend for a rear set up??

Slightly off topic, but did you ever do a similar post ( spec list ) for your Sapphire. I did try searching but Rainbird and Cosworth and handling brings back most of the board....

If you did that car again would you stick with the same beam or a Zoo one?
Also is the Escos rear ARB worth doing? As it is thicker does it make the car lose grip at the back i.e oversteer more.......or is it one of the cars like the M3 CSL which seems to be an anomaly with regards to conventional ARB behaviour?

The thicker ARB allows you to be able to run softer springs for better wheel control over bumps.
I never finished experimenting with the Sapphire and I would reduce the spring rates front and rear more in line to what the Escort is running.

There's no easy upgrade for the front bar on a 2wd then? The 4x4 Sapphire one is different in that it pushes the front wheels forward I believe?

Let me drive your car, and I'll show you . Don't be embarrassed if my times are quicker, you can just put it down to "power to weight" if that makes you feel better .
