Default Roll cage - Full or half ?

Was wondering what people would suggest for a cage for my new car..

Was looking at rear cage with tinted window so was not noticable...

but then there is the idea of a full cage, but this making getting in and out hard work and losing the sleeper look..

Grrr Decisions

Default cages

hello mate i have a full cage in my s1 and to honest it is a pain in the arse after about three times of climbing over the door bars ,tripping and twating your head on the gear stick!!!also with mine i had to fitt harrness's witch are ok if it is a stripped out track car ,but if you intend to keep the back seats passengers will end up with soar nuts from the chaifing harrness straps lol,the choice is yours mate just think about what you want it for looks or saftey, mine was a great idea but shit in the real world, good luck anyway...

mine is a omp bolt in full cage you can split it to have just the rear if you want ,also the door bars are removeble(god send !!!!) the down side is that it covers up the seat belts so will need harrness's, idont like them make's me feel like one of the car park brigade lol..also the omp cage comes unpainted...

Unpainted isn't a problem.. As will be painting to the interior colour

Like the idea of removeable door bars though

Is this like the ones currently on ebay (about 300quid)? Do you have to cut the door bars too fit?

Thinking about an OMP one, any pictures??

cheers

You may as well get a half cage as its obviously only for looks.

Do people realise that a half cage is as much use in a crash as a chocolate teapot?

If you're not gonna get a proper cage, why bother?

I would also suggest that getting a roll cage in a road car is a daft idea. You're more likely to injure yourself in a crash with it fitted than you are without it fitted. Cages should be used along with crash helmets!

Heres my chocolate teapot

Discreet cage, hugs the roof & no probs for passengers. This is in mySaff
It aint quick enough to warrant a full cage.

And what does this cage actually do then? I don't see any fin plates back to the body. Whats it made from and to which regulations.

As for the fact that its not quick enough for a full cage, how do you figure this. Dont need to be going fast to roll. Anf you do roll, how does that cage protect the driver?

Can.....worms.....

What will follow will be something along the linesor your far too young and immature to possibly comment on the fact Rod's car does 200mph and he knows best [or something like that]

Young - maybe. Immature - most definitely not. Not when it comes to car safety.

I have no idea who Rod is or how quick his car is. But if it does do 200mph and thats all thats protecting him, lets hope he never has to test it out.
