Given that most of the ones on the market do nothing anyway, im sure the effect at the weekend will be the same.

what octane boost did you use?

Proof is, map a car, listen to where it Det's

Poor in octane boost, try it again, oh look no difference at all.

you only have to look at the size of the tubs that most of this stuff comes in to realise its NEVER going to bring a worthwhile increase to 60 litres of fuel!

cheapest one that actually works IMHO is toluene, mix in about 10% and off you go

I would argue that your customers are just reporting on the placebo effect TBH mate

And that "6 points" is reffering to a "point" as in 0.1

And yet people pour it into 98 rom and think that they magically have 104ron.

Try running a 102 map on it and see how long it lasts

well i have a few facts for you.

scoob made 60bhp more on NF RACE which is 60points/6 RON proof that it works. All recorded on a dyno.

And i also recall 1 of the mags doing back to back tests that all tested proved and increase on figures etc.

So tests prove it works theory doesnt

NF works well mate, its the cheap and cheerfull stuff im doubting

Ive used NF myself and seen a difference, also two of the lads on the vauxhall TOTB were running it quite happily this weekend.

Its just the crap you buy in garages and halfords and stuff that im on about.

The way i see it is most of its just a fancy label.

Take lead replacement additives,A test was done and there was only a very few that actualy worked with some making the fuel worse!

I use NF at the advice of my tuner

Without advancing the timing you are more likely to lose power than gain it, but if you are on the limit of Det, it can be a useful added protection if you are using it flat out for a long time.

Unless you have a self optimising ecu eg knock control there is no point..... unless you have mapped to suit.

The millers CVL turbo has let me run settings that were det city on boggo stock fuel. So it does work when used correctly.

your average person isnt going to want to run too close to the envelope though really are they.

i dont want to have to rely on an additive to stop my engine going pop.. i'd rather rely on the skills of my mapper knowing exactly what to map to.

Millers Octane Boost works well. Makes your plugs go a brown colour though for some reason

Thats been worrying me for a while, plugs went brown. Didnt make the link though.

Ive only used it as safety net when pushing the car hard, rather than increase timing to benefit from any power increase it *may* produce
